Astrophotography

Reading the night sky

Telescope setups at dusk, long exposures over open fields, and the moments when the stars finally show up in the frame.

About the astrophotography

From the first dusk alignments to the deep field: the gear, the skies, and the patience it takes to catch the stars.

Most of the shots have been taken with real telescopes, ranging from 250mm reach all to nearly 2000mm. Computer driven by a 250$ device which steers the expensive dedicated astrocameras (all from ZWO) on dedicated mounts that follow the objects and wher hundreds if not thousands of short exposures (up to 5mins each) are then aggregated at a high end computer — Most photos are taken directly from my garden, close to Lausanne in Switzerland.
